How the surprise works
You set the shape of the day. We seal the rest.
- I
You pick the shape
One, two or three wineries. A date, how many of you, what you like to drink, and anything we should avoid. Add-ons if you want them.
- II
We seal the day
Your guide and sommelier compose the route from the family-run cellars we work with in Valpolicella, Soave and on Lake Garda, around the season, the harvest calendar and your answers. You receive a confirmation and a pickup time. Nothing else.
- III
The reveal
The itinerary stays sealed until the morning itself, when your guide reveals the day. The reveal kit — a printed card made to be gifted — lets you hand over the promise long before anyone knows where it leads.
About this experience
Some of the best days in wine country are the ones you couldn't have planned yourself — the small cellar you'd never have found, the producer who opens a bottle that isn't on any list, the table you didn't know existed. The Surprise Wine Day turns that into a promise: you hand us the planning, and we hand you back a day built entirely around your group, kept secret until you arrive. Call it a mystery trip with a sommelier — the thrill of the surprise vacation packages you may have seen, except nothing here is random and the person designing your day knows every cellar door in the province.
Here is what you decide: how many wineries — one, two or three — the date, and who's coming. Here is what we ask before we design anything: the occasion, your tastes, and anything we should know — from dietary needs to wines you already love. Secret never means random. Your guide and sommelier compose the itinerary around the season, the harvest calendar and your answers, and the reveal happens with them, on the morning of the day.
It also makes a rare kind of gift. Every Surprise Wine Day comes with a reveal kit — a card you can hand over at a birthday, under the tree, or on Valentine's morning, with the date and the promise on it and the destination still unknown to both of you. Add a private driver for the day, a surprise box of four bottles selected by our sommelier, a picnic among the vines, or a private content creator who covers the day and delivers exclusive social content for your group.

Give it as a gift
The only present where even the giver doesn’t know the plan
Switch the builder to gift mode. You set the number of wineries, the guests and the add-ons; the recipient messages us with a date when they’re ready. Every booking includes the reveal kit — a printed (or digital) card with the date and the promise of the day, while the destination stays secret.
Frequently asked questions
How does the Surprise Wine Day actually work?+
You choose the number of wineries (1-3), the date and your group, and tell us the occasion and your tastes. We design the itinerary and keep it secret; your guide reveals the day on the morning itself. Dates at least 15 days ahead are always available; for shorter notice we confirm availability personally on WhatsApp. Everything else — pace, dietary needs, wine preferences — is agreed in advance.
Is this like a mystery vacation or surprise trip package?+
It shares the reveal — you book a date and a group size without knowing the destination — but not the machinery. Mystery vacation packages typically assign you a city from an inventory; the Surprise Wine Day is composed by your guide and sommelier for your group alone, in wine country they work in every week. You always know the region (Verona and its wine valleys), the standard (private, with guide and sommelier) and the price before you confirm — only the wineries stay secret.
Can I give the Surprise Wine Day as a gift?+
Yes — it's designed for it. Every booking includes a reveal kit: a printed (or digital) card with the date and the promise of the day, while the destination stays secret. Ideal for birthdays, anniversaries, Valentine's Day or Christmas. If you prefer, the recipient picks the date.
What if we have dietary needs or strong wine preferences?+
Tell us everything before the day — secret never means random. We ask about allergies, dietary needs and the wines you love or avoid, and the itinerary is designed around your answers. Only the names and the route stay hidden.
How many wineries should we choose?+
One winery makes a relaxed half day of around 4 hours. Two is the classic rhythm — about 5 to 6 hours with a long lunch between visits. Three is the full immersion, around 7 hours. Your guide paces the day so nothing ever feels rushed.
Can the surprise include Quintarelli or Dal Forno?+
No — both estates receive strictly by appointment, arranged in advance for your specific group, so a visit there can never stay a secret. If those doors are what you're after, book Lunch with Quintarelli or Lunch with Romano Dal Forno directly. The Surprise Wine Day draws on the family-run cellars we work with across Valpolicella, Soave and Lake Garda.
How much does the Surprise Wine Day cost?+
From €1,000 for one winery and two guests — one price for the group, never per person. Each additional winery adds €200 and each additional guest €150, so two wineries for four guests come to €1,500. A surprise box of four bottles selected by our sommelier is €150 and comes included with the three-winery day; the private driver and the other add-ons are quoted. You receive the exact quote before anything is confirmed or paid.
